Romans 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
Dear friends in Christ…Here we are just three short days till Resurrection Sunday. Oh how I wish that this would be the time of a great revival for the world, our nation and our community. Driving through the neighborhoods on Sunday morning before church and I see all the homes and people’s cars still in their driveways. Many of these homes we have visited and shared the gospel and even encouraged them to visit our chapel. Christ is coming soon, yet the world sleeps its life away. It is true in every Christian generation that there is acknowledgement that we are drawing closer and closer to the time that Christ will soon come for His church. It was true for the early believers in the book of Acts, it was true for those believers during the middle ages and it is true even for us now. The bible tells us to pay attention, to be vigilant, and to be ready for our Groom, Christ Jesus, who could come at any time for His church. Indeed the signs are amazing and are occurring right before our eyes, so the whole world can see, be unable to deny, nor can there be any doubts. Yet many people think of themselves as being christian, yet there is no conviction, no repentance, nor is there a passion for Christ. So often many are just going through the routines, they are in a sense, sleepwalking, not really awake, not excited and not busy doing the Lord’s work. Not everyone seeing great signs are awakened by them. For those of us who are awake, we are watchful and alert, and oh how we are so thrilled, even hungry for more of Christ, hungry for His word, and anticipating His gathering us together with Him. Signs are an important part of building up of our faith, but should not be the only source for our faith. Indeed we have the scriptures, the Holy Spirit and the blessed hope within us that points us toward that great day with vigor and everlasting joy!
As the verse above tells us, we are closer to the return of Christ than when we first believed. Tomorrow we will be closer than even today.
So… Keep your faith alive, keep your faith strong, and stir one-another up unto good works and boldly share your testimony. Live as if today you will be meeting Jesus face to face. We know His time is close, so live out your faith in such a way that it testifies before the whole world that we have within us an indescribable joy, for we believe His promises and we see His hand working out all things for the good of those who love Him. We have a savior, Jesus the Righteous.
Christ is coming soon!
May our great God bless you abundantly.
